Christine von Weizsäcker, Helena Paul, Antje Lorch and Ricarda Steinbrecher participated in the Thirteens Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, (COP 13), the Eighth Meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (MOP 8) and the Second Meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing (MOP 2) in Cancun, Mexico.
The meeting included strategy meetings with other civil society organisations and the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity, and the organisation and participation in the side event, " CRISPR Gene Drives: The Implications of Extinction Technologies and Species-Scale Engineering", participation in a press conference of Japanese NGOs on the "Impacts of the Fukushima Nuclear Accident on Biodiversity and People" as well as the publication of the daily NGO newsletter ECO.
