Prof. Dr. Juan Gutiérrez is an expert in conflict mediation, and has been engaged in the peace movement since 1968. He is the founder of the Peace Research Center "Gernika Gogouratuz" in Guernica, which he headed until 2002. He has worked as an informal mediator among top level policymakers trying to contribute to a peaceful transformation in the Basque conflict.
He is on the Board of Advisors of the Institute for Integrative Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding.
